Alt-R&B Star Bairi Commands the Dance Floor On the Highly Infectious “Come My Way”
LA-based Alt-R&B songstress Bairi returns with “Come My Way,” her second single of the year following “Karma (Medicine).” A shift from her previous single, the Sian McMullen and Dave Marx-produced track (with additional production from Reggie Volume and Captain Swiley) sees Bairi take control of the dance floor and exuding raw sensuality, singing to her lover:
“Boy, you know my body and its secrets/ Only you know what it takes to make it cry/ I can be the one that helps you with your healing/ Not another love is like mine.”
Inspired by her parents' love for dance music, Bairi shares, "Right after we made it I sent it to my parents because I knew they’d be geeked (and they were). My dad was a Baltimore DJ in his spare time and about 40% (making this number up) of his car playlist was dance music. My mom loves to dance to club music too, and has been impatiently waiting for this release. Because they love it so much, I already know it’s a success.”
If you aren’t familiar with Bairi, the Hershey, PA native has been a prolific force in R&B over the last few years, working with notable producers and artists such as Justice League, Mike Hector, Deante Hitchcock, Chris Patrick, Dende, and more. Flawlessly combining introspective lyrics with her captivating voice and entrancing harmonies, her standout singles “Paraiso” and “Free” truly capture her talent as a storyteller.
“Come My Way” is the final single ahead of her recently announced debut album, Fire Siren, scheduled for release on April 22nd. Based on her previous releases, you won’t want to miss what’s sure to be an electrifying debut.
