Over the past few months, Konyikeh has been showering her fans with a collection of music releases from her inaugural EP, titled Litany. With eager anticipation, the culmination of her artistry took center stage last week as the full project made its debut via Jorja Smith's independent label, FAMM. Throughout the project, Konyikeh’s performance renders a profound sense of vulnerability and creativity that is intentionally interwoven into every aspect of the album, setting the tone for the duration of the listening experience.

The inspiration behind the title of this project draws from Latin roots and carries a dual meaning. In the realm of Christianity, it refers to a simple, yet repetitive prayer that carries meditative qualities. However, in contemporary everyday usage, it has also come to represent expressing grievances. Konyekih skillfully explores both of these meanings throughout her project, allowing listeners to experience the depth of her artistic vision. Crafted over the span of six years as her own refuge and soothing prayers during turbulent times, her songs serve as a reflection of her personal experiences as it delves into themes of familial ties, relationships, and rejection.

Previously released singles, such as “Sorrow”, “Teenage Dream”, and “Joy and Pride,” are joined by two newfound gems. With these additions, the project serves as a canvas for Konyekih's extraordinary voice which was complemented by the production of Charlie J. Perry. Perry's work on the production breathes life into Konyekih's vision, seamlessly intertwining with her contralto voice, painting a vivid soundscape infused with a soulful resonance.

The five-track EP weaves a velvety cocoon that traverses various facets of reality. Konyekih's cadence and ability to channel her innermost thoughts allow the listener to appreciate the full spectrum of emotions that unfold throughout the project while simultaneously leaving us eager to anticipate the next chapter in her musical journey.
