Cuffing Season is coming to an end, and with Spring right around the corner, the 19-year-old R&B upcomer Liyah Katana has shared her new single “STR8” and its accompanying video.
Her first solo drop since the release of her 2021 EP Forevaliyah, makes a comeback with a new kiss-off anthem for the ladies to sing along to as they say goodbye to those who didn’t appreciate them or deserve their time.
“I keep holding my breath but you make me / Make me fight just to earn your love / And I know that it’s nobody’s fault, I should blame myself / If I gotta choose between you and myself / Gotta leave you where you at, gotta go babe / Couldn’t fix what you did, you should know babe / Must be crazy if you think that you’re my onl-y one / Falling outta love with the things you’ve done” she sings.
Displaying a stunning set of pipes, her vocals are the focal point of the track as she croons over the thoughtful blend of the beat and strings in the background.
Having made it to the cover of the Tidal Canadian R&B playlist, it’s clear that it is Katana’s time is upon us, we can’t wait to see what she has up here sleeves.
