Aáyanna ‘Won’t Cry’ Over Spilt Milk or Love Lost

With a voice like honey and a vision in mind, Aáyanna offers us her third single of the year with the heartfelt and soft ballad, “Won’t Cry.”

Taking listeners through the labyrinth that is real love and whether or not you have truly experienced it, her lyrics mimic the doubts that we have all experienced at one point or another in our run-ins with love.

“I could be bitter I know I deserve better / It’s your loss / But I catch feelings faster than I catch my breath / And in that same one I said I love you,” she sings as she inquires whether her partner ever really loved her, promising that she wont cry, no matter the answer.

Along with this earnest and reflective poetry, Aáyanna accompanied her new single with a trio of videos where she depicts a series of real conversations about love and relationships. “My vision for the rollout of “Won’t Cry” was to have unscripted conversations about love and what it means to love, with the black women in my life who’ve impacted me and helped shape the woman I am today. The day we shot this was the most wholesome experience, and I hope it speaks to you.”
